Features of the District

Location:Altona District is an outer metropolitan electorate approximately ten kilometres west of Melbourne.
Area:129 square kilometres.
Region:Western Metropolitan Region
Suburbs:Altona, Altona Meadows, Laverton, Laverton North and Point Cook.Parts of Altona North and Hoppers Crossing.
Features:Altona District is a mixed residential and rural electorate. It has significant industrial areas and includes one of Australia’s largest concentrations of petro-chemical plants. Other features include extensive recreational and sporting facilities, the Point Cook RAAF Base, Point Cook Metropolitan Park and Port Phillip Prison.
