Features of the District

Location:Bellarine District is an urbanised rural electorate located south-west of Melbourne.
Area:337 square kilometres.
Region:Western Victoria Region
Towns:The eastern fringe of Geelong (including the suburbs of Newcomb, Moolap and Whittington) and the Bellarine Peninsula, including Clifton Springs, Drysdale, Indented Head, Ocean Grove, Point Lonsdale, Portarlington, Queenscliff and St Leonards.
Features:Bellarine District includes popular tourist attractions of Swan Bay, Swan Island and the historic fort and fishing port at Queenscliff. Seaside resorts are scattered along the coast of the Peninsula, attracting visitors throughout the year. Bellarine District also includes the Alcoa Plant at Point Henry and the Cheetham Salt Works. The interior of the Peninsula is largely devoted to agriculture.
