Latrobe City is divided into nine wards. There is a total of nine councillors.
This structure came into effect at the November 2008 election as a result of an electoral representation review conducted in 2007. For more information about the review, visit the Latrobe City Council representation review page.

Burnett Ward includes Toongabbie and Glengarry. Dunbar Ward includes part of Traralgon. Rintoul Ward includes part of Morwell. Gunyah Ward covers the south and east of the municipality and includes Traralgon South and Hazelwood North. Firmin Ward is south of Moe and Morwell and includes Churchill, Hazelwood, Boolarra and Yinnar. Farley Ward includes Moe. Merton Ward includes Newborough.
