Features of the District

Location:Lowan District is a rural electorate located north-west of Melbourne.
Area:34,540 square kilometres.
Region:Western Victoria Region
Towns:Casterton, Coleraine, Dartmoor, Dimboola, Hamilton, Horsham, Jeparit, Kaniva, Nhill and Rainbow.
Features:Lowan District is the largest District in Victoria, and stretches from the Big Desert to within ten kilometres of the coast. It includes the wheat growing area of the Wimmera and the wool growing areas of the western district. Natural features include the Grampians and Mount Arapiles.
