Melbourne City Council

Unlike other Victorian councils, the City of Melbourne is governed by its own Act.

One election is held to elect the Leadership Team of Lord Mayor and Deputy Lord Mayor (preferential), and another to elect seven councillors (proportional representation).

Voting in City of Melbourne elections is compulsory for both residents and non-residents.
