A by-election is currently in progress for Bungal Ward. This by-election will be by postal voting. Ballot papers must be received by the Returning Officer by 6.00 pm on Friday,25July 2008. Results will be published from Monday,28July 2008.

    Council profile

    Moorabool Shire is divided into four wards. There is a total of seven councillors.
    • Bungal Ward  (1 councillor)
    • East Moorabool Ward  (4 councillors)
    • West Moorabool Ward  (1 councillor)
    • Woodlands Ward  (1 councillor)

    This structure came into effect at the November 2004 election as a result of an electoral representation review conducted in 2004. For more information about the review, visit the Moorabool Shire representation review page.

    Map of Moorabool Shire Council which is divided into four wards. West Moorabool Ward includes Pootilla, Bungaree, Millbrook, Yendon and Clarendon. Woodlands Ward includes Spargo Creek, Blackwood, Gordon and Greendale. Bungal Ward includes Mount Egerton, Ballan, Ingliston, Bungal, and Mount Wallace. East Moorabool Ward includes Darley, Bacchus Marsh, Maddingley, and Rowsley.
