Location:South Barwon is an urbanised rural electorate located south-west of Melbourne.
Area:621 square kilometres.
Region:Western Victoria Region
Towns:Barrabool, Barwon Heads, Bellbrae, Belmont, Connewarre, Gnarwarre, Grovedale, Modewarre, Mount Moriac, Torquay and Waurn Ponds.Part of the Geelong suburb of Highton.
Features:South Barwon District includes popular surf and swimming beaches and towns, and the Highton campuses of Deakin University. Industries in the area include tourism, fishing and agriculture.
