Council profile

South Gippsland Shire is divided into three wards. There is a total of nine councillors.
  • Coastal-Promontory Ward  (3 councillors)
  • Strzelecki Ward  (3 councillors)
  • Tarwin Valley Ward  (3 councillors)

This structure came into effect at the November 2005 election as a result of an electoral representation review conducted in 2004. For more information about the review, visit the South Gippsland Shire representation review page.

Coastal-Promontory Ward includes Venus Bay, Waratah Bay, Sandy Point, Foster, Port Franklin, Toora, Welshpool, Port Welshpool and Wilsons Promontory.
