General help


For a successful search you must enter your details exactly as they appear on the electoral roll. If you are having difficulty finding your record you may have entered the data incorrectly. The following help has been provided to assist you.

The search engine is not case sensitive and text may be entered in either upper, lower or mixed case.

You must not enter building names, farm names, station names, flat names, flat numbers or unit numbers, etc, as these will negate the search. For example: If you live at "Mt Buffalo Chalet, Mount Buffalo" enter your address with the Suburb/Locality as "Mount Buffalo" and leave the Street Number, Street Name and Street Type blank. Similarly if you live at "HMAS Cerberus, Hmas Cerberus" enter your address with the Suburb/Locality as "Hmas Cerberus" and leave the Street Number, Street Name and Street Type blank.

Family Name


You must enter data in this field.

Family Name is your surname. In some instances there can be confusion between Family Name and given names. If you think that this is likely then try reversing your Family Name and given names.

If you have changed your name then try your former name.

First Name and Middle Name(s)


You must enter all your given names as they appear on the Electoral Roll.

Given names can be blank if that is how you are registered on the roll.

In some instances there can be confusion between Family Name and given names. If you think that this is likely then try reversing your Family Name and given names.

If you have changed your name then try your former name.

If you use both the English version of your given name and the Non-English version of your given name interchangeably try using either name. For example: If your given name is "Giuseppe" then try "Joseph".

Birth Date


You must select data in all three fields.

Street Number


Street Number can be blank if that is how it is shown on the roll.

Do not enter your flat or unit number here.

Do not enter the word Lot, Res or RMB.

Do not enter a Post Office box number, as this must be a residential street number.

The number can be followed by an alpha character. For example: 8A is a valid street number. Do not insert a space between the number and the alpha character.

If your street number is expressed as a range of numbers then only enter the first number. For example: If you live at 253-255 then try first entering 253.

Street Name


Street Name can be blank if that is how it is shown on the roll.

Do not enter the street type (eg Road, Street, Way) in this field.

Please refer to the street directory to confirm correct spelling.

Street Type


Select your Street Type from the list provided. Street Type can be blank if that is how it is shown on the roll. For example: "The Strand" would be entered as a Street Name only.

Suburb/Locality


You must enter data in this field.

The suburb/locality name must be the official suburb/locality name. Do not use estate names or vanity addresses. Please refer to the street directory to confirm correct spelling.
