Map of the Eastern Victoria Region. The Region covers the east of the state south of the Northern Region. It extends from the Monington Peninsula and the boundaries of the Metropolitan Regions to Gabo Island and the State Border with NSW. The map shows the towns of Omeo, Warburton, Warragul, Leongatha, Yarram, Sale, Bairnsdale, Orbost, and Cann River.

Features of the Region

Area:46,087 square kilometres
Districts:Bass, Evelyn, Gembrook, Gippsland East, Gippsland South, Hastings, Monbulk, Mornington, Morwell, Narracan and Nepean
Centres:Bairnsdale, Belgrave, Foster, Leongatha, Lilydale, Mornington, Morwell, Omeo, Orbost, Pakenham, Phillip Island, Portsea, Sale, Warragul
Features:Eastern Victoria Region is a mixed urban and rural electorate. Natural features include Wilsons Promontory National Park, the Dandenong Ranges National Park, Yellingsbo State Nature Reserve, Olinda State Forest, the Yarra Ranges National Park and the Upper Yarra Dam. The Region also includes Corner Inlet, the Snowy River country, Mount Baw Baw, and a series of lakes and islands. It covers Phillip Island, French Island and the Mornington Peninsula.Industries include tourism, intensive farming and the Yarra Valley wine growing region.
