The VEC's Passport to Democracy for Years 9 and 10 and VCAL students is a comprehensive program, which includes the support of an Outreach Officer in class, or an onsite professional development session for teachers at your school.
Primary and secondary teachers can also request a single in-class presentation or assistance with school elections through the Australian Electoral Commission's (AEC's) School and Community Visits Program (external link). Please contact your local AEC divisional office or call 132 326 for more information.
In-language voter information sessions
We offer in-language voter information sessions, using qualified interpreters, covering the basics of voter enrolment, how to vote in an election, and the different levels of government. Please
contact our office for more information.
Enrolment outreach at homeless agencies
In the lead up to major elections we run
voter enrolment sessions at homeless agencies. We can answer any questions agency clients have about voting and offer an enrolment lookup service for people to check their enrolment details.
Training for community workers
To better support your clients in exercising their right to vote the VEC provides briefing sessions for community workers. These sessions include special enrolment categories, assistance available for voting and other basic information about elections. Please
contact our office for more information.
Aboriginal Engagement Officer
The VEC has recently created a position for an Aboriginal Engagement Officer who is available for outreach services. Please
