New structure for Melbourne City Council

The Minister for Local Government approved an increase in the number of councillors to nine (not including the Lord Mayor and Deputy Lord Mayor) following the recent electoral representation review conducted by the VEC.

The modified structure will take effect from the Council elections in October 2012.
