The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) today released its Final Report on electoral representation for the Glenelg Shire Council.
The VEC’s recommendation is that Glenelg Shire Council consist of seven councillors to be elected from an unsubdivided municipality.
In preparing its Final Report, the VEC considered a range of information, including submissions made in response to its Preliminary and Addendum Reports and statements made at a public hearing on 8 August 2007.
The VEC’s Final Report on the Glenelg Shire Council has been forwarded for consideration to Mr Richard Wynne MP, Minister for Local Government.
The Final Report is available for inspection at the Council offices, or people can get their own copies from the VEC (tel. 13 18 32) or from the VEC’s website www.vec.vic.gov.au
