Nominations to stand as a candidate for the Kororoit District by-election close next week.
Electoral Commissioner Steve Tully said all prospective candidates should make sure they nominate before the deadline, as late nominations will not be accepted.
“All prospective candidates not endorsed by a registered political party must nominate with the election manager at Level 9 of the Victorian Electoral Commission, 505 Little Collins Street, Melbourne, by 12 noon on Friday, 13 June,” said Mr Tully.
These people should contact the election manager, Michael Sullivan, on 9299 0572 for a Candidate Kit, which includes nomination information and a nomination form.
All registered political parties must nominate their candidates at the Victorian Electoral Commission, Level 8, 505 Little Collins Street, Melbourne, by 12 noon on Thursday,
12 June.
The Kororoit District by-election will be held on Saturday, 28 June 2008.
Any person or group wanting to distribute printed how-to-vote material within 400 metres of a voting centre on election day must register the material with the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC).
How-to-vote material can be registered from Monday, 16 June to 12 noon on Friday, 20 June 2008.
