At the upcoming 2008 elections, Shire of Melton will elect seven councillors from three wards.
As a result of an electoral representation review in 2008, the number of wards has changed since the last election. For more information about the review, visit the Melton Shire Council representation review page.

Cambridge Ward in the south includes Exford, Eynesbury, Mount Cottrell, Rockbank, Caroline Springs, Burnside and Ravenhall. Coburn Ward in the west includes Melton, Melton South, Melton West and Kurunjang.
