In order to fulfil its functions under the Electoral Act 2002, the VEC collects personal information from electors and other individuals. We act in accordance with the privacy principles set out in the Victorian Information Privacy Act 2000 to protect this personal information.

- enrolment information - personal information associated with the maintenance of the electoral roll;
- political party registration information - personal information associated with the registration of political parties by the VEC;
- candidate information - personal information associated with nomination of candidates for election and the subsequent administration of elections; and
- voting information - personal information associated with the voting in particular elections administered by the VEC.

If you would like to update your enrolment information, please print and complete an enrolment form. You can also pick up an enrolment form at any Coles or Bi-Lo supermarket or any post office, or you can contact the VEC and we will send you one.General requests for access to and correction of your personal information should be directed to:
Manager, Communications, Education and Research BranchRequests for access to personal information will be handled in accordance with the VEC's freedom of information procedures.

Feedback on privacy
If you believe that the VEC or one of its agents has breached the privacy principles in the Information Privacy Act 2000 you can write to:Manager, Communications, Education and Research BranchIf you are dissatisfied with the VEC's response, you can contact the Victorian Privacy Commissioner. The Privacy Commissioner may seek to conciliate the matter or may suggest that it be referred to the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) for a hearing.
