Privacy and political party registration information
One of the VEC's functions is the registration of political parties. This involves a number of related functions, including the change of the details of a registered political party, the review of the registration of a political party and the de-registration of a political party. Each of these procedures either allows or requires the VEC to collect personal information.
The VEC does not release any of the personal information that it receives in relation to political party registrations, except as required by the Electoral Act 2002.

Inspection of the Register of Political Parties
The VEC must make the Register of Political Parties available for public inspection. The register must include the name and address of the registered officer of the political party. The Register is available, free of charge, at the VEC offices.Publication of notices of application for registration
The VEC must publicly advertise and publish a notice of the application for registration of a political party in the Victoria Government Gazette. The notice must include the name and address of the registered officer of the political party.
