Features of the Region

Area:819 square kilometres
Districts:Altona, Derrimut, Essendon, Footscray, Keilor, Kororoit, Niddrie, Pascoe Vale, Tarneit, Williamstown and Yuroke
Suburbs:Altona, Caroline Springs, Coburg, Craigieburn, Deer Park, Footscray, Hoopers Crossing, Moonee Ponds, Sunshine, St Albans, Sydenham, Werribee Williamstown and Yarraville
Features:Western Metropolitan Region is a mainly urban Region. Features include Werribee Park Mansion, Point Cook Metropolitan Park, the Point Cook RAAF Base, the old Gellibrand Fort site, and a marina and beach around Hobsons and Port Phillip Bays. The natural features include the Merri and Moonee Ponds Creeks, and the Woodlands Historic Park, Greenvale reservoir a number of recreation areas.
