Central Goldfields Shire Council was subject to a representation review in 2011.

Central Goldfields Shire is divided into four wards. Flynn Ward includes Moliagul, Bealiba, Dunolly, Archdale Junction, Bromley and Havelock. Paddys Ranges Ward includes Wareek, Amherst, Daisy Hill and Talbot. Tullaroop Ward includes Carisbrook, Majorca, Tullaroop Reservoir and Cotswold. Maryborough Ward covers the town of Maryborough.

Current Councillors

There are currently no sitting councillors for Central Goldfields Shire Council, after the Council was dismissed in August 2017 by an Act of Parliament. The next general election for Central Goldfields Shire Council will be October 2020.

The Minister for Local Government approved some minimal changes to the ward boundaries of Central Goldfields Shire Council following electoral representation review conducted by the VEC in 2011.

This modified structure took effect from the Council elections in October 2012.
