The abbreviation of the registered political party Pauline Hanson’s One Nation was today officially changed to One Nation.

The party applied to change its registered abbreviation to One Nation on 27 June 2023.

As required by section 49 of the Electoral Act 2002 (the Act), the Victorian Electoral Commission advertised the application and invited objections. No objections were received.

Certain names are not acceptable under the Act, including names that are confusingly similar to the name of another registered political party.

The abbreviation One Nation is acceptable under the Act and will be printed next to the party’s endorsed candidates’ names on ballot papers at any election contested by the party under the Act.
