For immediate release
The Legalise Marijuana Party voluntarily withdrew their application to register as a political party in Victoria on Monday 26 September.
Electoral Commissioner, Warwick Gately, confirmed that the Legalise Marijuana Party submitted a request to voluntarily withdraw their application.
An unregistered political party can still participate at elections, but will not be entitled to:
- have its name and logo next to candidates' names on ballot papers
- nominate candidates and lodge how-to-vote cards with the VEC centrally rather than with election managers
- ongoing enrolment information (which can be used only for permitted purposes).
