Announcing our newly refreshed education website

A screenshot of the homepage of our new Passport to Democracy websiteThe Victorian Electoral Commission is excited to launch our refreshed Passport to Democracy website. Our aim for the new Passport to Democracy website was to refresh content and make it easier to navigate and more user-friendly. We offer teachers, students and young voters accessible information to learn about democracy and voting at their own pace. The website gives better access to student activities, teacher lesson plans, school incursion bookings and information for young voters.

About the program

Passport to Democracy (PTD) is an active citizenship program, which aims to develop critical thinking skills in students and young people by prompting them to consider how they can make an impact on issues they care about in their own communities. The PTD program currently consists of four modules: Decide, Research, Activate, and Vote.

Additionally, we have a ‘Partner Up’ program that addresses the Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and suits Year 11 and 12 students. Teachers have often expressed to us how much they appreciate the tailored resources!

We hope you will enjoy exploring the new website as much as we did creating it! For any questions or feedback, please email us or reach us via the online booking enquiry form.
