Information about Apparent Failure to Vote Notices in your language
In October 2020, we held local council elections. A total of 330,000 people appear to not have voted in these elections. The VEC recently started mailing out Apparent Failure To Vote Notices (notice).
This notice is not a fine, but allows people to give us a reason for not voting or provide evidence that they have voted.
If you get one of these notices, it is very important that you respond. You can ask your family, friends or support worker to help you. You have 28 days to respond to the notice.
