Staying connected with young culturally diverse leaders

VEC staff member Krushnadevsinh Ravalji stands with three other emerging leaders: Sherry-Rose Bih Watts, Kevin Kapeke and Liem NguyenVictorian Electoral Commission (VEC) staff members Krushnadevsinh (Kano) Ravalji and Asvin Phorugngam were thrilled to attend a recent event at The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI). The joint event between CultureVerse and ACMI was a great opportunity to meet new and emerging young culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) leaders. Since starting his role as a Democracy Ambassador at the VEC in 2018, Kano has used his networks to support the VEC to be more inclusive of CALD communities.

The VEC is implementing its Multicultural Inclusion Plan 2020-2023 and is looking to work with leadership programs for young CALD people to improve knowledge of the Victorian electoral process. For more information, please email Asvin Phorugngam, Electoral Inclusion Officer, or phone him on 8620 1185.
