Roll closed for Lyndhurst District by-election

Early voting opens Thursday, 28 March

The electoral roll has closed for the Lyndhurst District State by-election with 43,441 electors on the roll. This is an increase of 1,863 electors since the 2010 State election.

The Lyndhurst District by-election will be held on Saturday, 27 April. Voting is compulsory for all electors on the roll for Lyndhurst District at the close of roll on Tuesday, 12 March.

Electors who will be unable to vote on election day, for example, if they will be working, or will be interstate or overseas, are eligible to vote prior to election day at an early voting centre.

Early voting is available from Tuesday, 2 April at the Lyndhurst Early Voting Centre, Shop 2 & 3, 31–32 Douglas Street, Noble Park and at the Hampton Park Early Voting Centre, Shop 68, 166 Somerville Road, Hampton Park.

Early voting centres will be open between 8.30 am and 6.00 pm on weekdays from Tuesday, 2 April to Friday, 26 April (including ANZAC Day), with extended hours available on Saturday, 20 April (9.00 am to 2.00 pm) and Wednesday, 24 April (8.30 am to 8.00 pm).

Those unable to vote early or on election day can apply for a postal vote. Postal voting application forms can be obtained from any post office in Lyndhurst District, the VEC website ( or by calling the election office on 9548 0223.

Applications for postal votes must be received by 6.00 pm on Wednesday, 24 April and completed ballot papers must be in the mail or handed to a voting centre manager before 6.00 pm on election day, Saturday, 27 April.
