State election 2014: Tomorrow is election day

Tomorrow Victorians vote for the 58th Parliament of Victoria. Everyone on the State electoral roll, as at 8.00 pm on Tuesday 11 November, must vote.

Electoral Commissioner Warwick Gately said: ‘It’s important that all eligible Victorians vote in the 2014 State election, and have a say in their democracy.

‘Your vote will help decide who will be in Government for the next four years.’

Approximately 1800 voting centres will be open across the State from 8.00 am. Voters are reminded that voting centres close at 6.00 pm sharp.

Voting centre locations will be listed in major Victorian daily newspapers tomorrow. Details of voting centre locations are also available online at votingcentrelookup.vec.vic.gov.au, by calling 131 832, or on the Vote Victoria app - a free app now available from iTunes and Google Play stores.

People who have applied for a postal vote must make sure that their completed ballot papers are posted by 6.00 pm tomorrow. Alternatively, completed postal votes (including their declaration envelope) can be handed in at any voting centre on the day.

Voting in State elections is compulsory for all eligible citizens, with no upper age limit.
