Experience 'Democracy Live'

As vote counting begins on the evening of Saturday 29 November, ‘Democracy Live’ kicks off at Federation Square, with a night of free entertainment and live State election updates.

From 6.30 pm, visitors can grab a free coffee, pull up a deck chair and enjoy the entertainment, including street performers, bands and DJs rocking the night away through to 10.30 pm.

Organised by the Victorian Electoral Commission, the free entry event will also provide voters with live Victorian election updates throughout the night, with crosses to the ABC election coverage broadcast.

Electoral Commissioner Warwick Gately said: 'We're hoping voters can come to Federation Square tonight to help us celebrate democracy in Victoria.'

Visitors can also get a snap with the cast of paper people from the 2014 State election advertising campaign and see their photos appear on the big screen.

Voters looking for even more detailed results information can get it in the palm of their hand, with the free Vote Victoria app available now on iTunes and Google Play. The app allows voters to view specific results for each district, as well as a running total for the State, all in a mobile-friendly format.
