Voting closes soon for Tarrengower Ward Mount Alexander Shire Council by-election

Voters in Mount Alexander Shire Council are reminded they have until 6.00 pm this Friday to vote in the Tarrengower Ward by-election and avoid a fine.

Completed ballot material must be posted before final local mail clearance times in this final week of voting. Alternatively it can be hand-delivered by the deadline to the election office located at Red Gum Room, Mount Alexander Civic Centre, 27 Lyttleton Street, Castlemaine.

Voters who still haven’t received their ballot pack should call the election office immediately on (03) 8619 1499 to arrange an alternative. Extended hours apply from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm on Thursday 15 February and 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on Friday 16 February.

Voting is compulsory for voters who were on the State roll for this by-election at 4.00 pm Friday 15 December 2017—State-enrolled voters who don’t vote may be fined. Voters aged 70 or older and council-enrolled voters are encouraged to vote but will not be fined if they don’t vote.
