Ostlers North Balwyn Cellars has been successful in its application for an on-premises liquor licence.

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) sent ballot papers to 1,719 eligible voters who live in the neighbourhood surrounding the venue at 67 Doncaster Road, Balwyn North.

Residents were asked to simply vote ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on whether a licence should be granted.

A total of 729 votes in favour and 457 against the resolution were polled. Six informal votes were received.

An ‘apparent failure to vote’ notice will be sent to every elector on the roll who appears not to have voted in the poll. Electors must respond to this notice within 28 days of receiving it.

The Victorian Electoral Commission conducted the liquor licensing poll on behalf of the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation.
