Voting closes soon for Greater Geelong City Council elections

Voters in the Greater Geelong City Council elections are reminded they have until 6.00 pm this Friday to return their ballot paper and avoid a fine.

Ballots that are not in the mail or hand-delivered to the election office by this time cannot be counted.

Completed ballot material must be posted by 6.00 pm this Friday. Alternatively it can be hand-delivered to the election office during business hours at Busport, 17 Gheringhap Street, Geelong. Extended hours apply from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm on Thursday 26 October and 9.00 am to 6.00 pm on Friday 27 October.

Voters who still haven’t received their ballot pack should call the election office on (03) 8619 1421 for further information.

Voting is compulsory for voters who were on the State roll for this election at 4.00 pm Friday 1 September 2017—State-enrolled voters who don’t vote may be fined. Voters aged 70 or older and council-enrolled voters are encouraged to vote but will not be fined if they don’t vote.
