Maroondah City Council representation reviews

We completed a representation review of Maroondah City Council on Wednesday 23 October 2019.

Our recommended structure for Maroondah City Council is that it retains its current electoral structure and boundaries (nine councillors elected from three three-councillor wards).

We provided this recommendation to the Minister for Local Government. The Minister will decide whether to accept our recommendation. Any changes will apply at the next general council election in October 2020.

What is a representation review?

Representation reviews look at the electoral structure of a local council. This includes:

  • if the council has the right number of councillors per voter
  • if the council should be one large area (unsubdivided) or made up of wards (subdivided)
  • if subdivided, how many wards, what ward boundaries and how many councillors each ward should have.
