Wodonga City Council countback

An extraordinary vacancy has occurred in Wodonga City Council due to the resignation of Councillor John K. D. Watson on Tuesday 25 October.

The vacancy will be filled through a countback of all the votes from the last general election held in October 2020. It will include all remaining eligible candidates who were not elected at the general election.

Countback details

The countback will be streamed online through Microsoft Teams at 10 am on Tuesday 6 December.

We’ll share a link to watch the countback at 9:30 am on the morning of the countback.

How to watch the countback

You can join a Microsoft Teams meeting from any device, even if you don’t have a Microsoft account.

  • Watch the countback on your computer
    1. Click on 'Watch countback' (available the morning of the countback).
    2. There will be 3 options for joining the countback. Choose 'Continue on this browser'.
    3. Next, you will be prompted to allow camera and microphone access. Choose 'Continue without audio or video'.
    4. Enter your name.
    5. When you're ready, click on 'Join now'.

  • Watch the countback on your phone

    To watch the countback on your phone, you'll need to download the Microsoft Teams app from Google Play (Android devices) or App Store (Apple devices).

    1. Tap on 'Watch countback' (available the morning of the countback).
    2. Tap on 'Join meeting'.
    3. You'll be prompted to open the Teams app.
    4. Next, tap on 'Join as guest'.
    5. Enter your name.
    6. When you're ready, tap on 'Join meeting'.
