50,000 to have their say at the Nepean District by-election

There are 50,910 people enrolled to vote in the upcoming Nepean District by-election after the roll closed on Friday 20 March.  

This is an increase of over 1,900 electors since the 2022 state election.  

Early voting begins on Wednesday 22 April, with early voting centres open until 6 pm Friday 1 May.  

Electors unable to vote early or on election day can apply for a postal vote. Postal vote applications are available: 

  • online at vec.vic.gov.au
  • at any post office in Nepean District
  • at the election office at 1/16 Dutton St, Rosebud
  • by calling 131 832
Applications for postal votes must be received by 6 pm on Wednesday 29 April. Completed ballot papers must be in the mail or hand-delivered to a voting centre before 6 pm on election day, Saturday 2 May. 

Voting is compulsory for all electors on the roll in Nepean District at the close of roll (8 pm Friday 20 March).  

All Nepean District households will have an EasyVote guide delivered to their mailbox, directly providing electors with the key information and resources for the by-election.
