In a State election, you vote for the people who represent you in the Victorian Parliament. State elections are held on the last Saturday in November every 4 years.
Local council elections
In a local council election, you vote for the people who represent you in your local area. Local council elections are held in October every 4 years.
State by-elections, supplementary elections and appointments
If a seat becomes available in Parliament, the process to fill the vacancy differs between the Upper House and Lower House.
Polls and fee for service elections
We also conduct elections for some statutory, community, and commercial groups.
