I am a proud Morwell resident, having lived here with my family for decades and involved personally, or as a dad with my children's sports in Bocce, Morwell Baseball, and Morwell Cricket. This helped develop my passion for Morwell and why I nominated. Every resident deserves to feel safe in their home, walking our streets, local shops and using our parks and gardens, yet this not happening in Morwell. This has to stop! I will be your strong voice pushing Government to give a damn about us, providing us with the Police and Protective Service Officers to take the crimes of the streets and stop dumping people down here. We need Morwell thriving once again. Our potential is huge, yet it is being taken away. The line in the sand is drawn, it has to stop. We are all proud Morwellians and we deserve our Town back. We have a world re-known Rose Garden, Immigration Park, and many more wonderful places in Morwell, with brilliant businesses here.This is what we need to build on and known for. Our Community and its people are our biggest asset. I stand for appropriate use of ratepayer money, local jobs, community wellbeing and safety, access to key services without the wait or need to travel, and investing in the maintenance and upgrade of our existing assets rather than new infrastructure which we can’t afford, ensuring Morwell River and the broader Latrobe thrives into the future. I’m standing for the Morwell River ward because I'm about making a positive impact locally in our community, building a stronger, fairer, and safer community for all of us. I’m a representative who is visible, accessible, and to put it simply I want better results just like you do for my friends and family. Council is the face of all three levels of Government, it’s a privilege to represent our people and to have the ability to influence real change on the ground, I'm committed to Morwell River ward because I have skin in the game. Individuals have no power in the Council chamber, for any decision to be passed it needs a majority vote, I have the skills and experience to work with the current Councillor group and fight for Morwell River’s needs. Hello Morwell River Ward community, My name is John Ellingham, together with my wife Pam, we have raised three daughters and spent my entire life living, working, and volunteering in our community. Morwell is my home, and I am proud of my long-standing commitment to the people who live here. I have worked across the power industry, managed a local legal firm, and served as an Industrial Officer with the Australian Services Union. An Australian Overseas Foundation Scholarship in 1972 provided me with valuable international experience and broadened my perspective on community and industry development. My commitment to community service has included volunteering with school councils, health organizations, Lifeline, Life Education, sporting groups, and numerous community committees. I continue to contribute through local and regional organizations, particularly in the areas of health and community wellbeing. I am passionate about ensuring Morwell receives its fair share of investment and infrastructure. For too long, Morwell and neighbouring communities have been overlooked. I believe strong communities need strong advocates who are willing to speak up and get involved. I am seeking your support to represent Morwell River Ward and continue working to build a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous future for our community.

My name is Guss Lambden and my priorities for Morwell and surrounds includes the following. 1. To decrease the level of anti social behaviour in the CBD areas with full support for local Police. 2. As a result of the above attract new businesses and increase employment. 3. Improved local roads. 4. Improve lighting in CBD and residential areas. 5. To add more playground equipment and BBQ's in park areas for families. 6. To support and find accommodation for our many homeless in the area. 7. To attract events to the local region, be it sporting,arts or cultural/community. Id like to see the Italian Fiesta return to Morwell or an event with all local cultural groups.

I have lived and worked in the Latrobe Valley for my entire adult life. For the past 21 years I have operated Latrobe Valley Computers, located in Buckley Street, Morwell. Through this work I have supported local residents, community organisations and businesses with their technology needs, giving me a practical understanding of the everyday challenges faced across our region. My long connection to the Latrobe Valley has shaped my appreciation for the people who live here and the importance of reliable services, respectful communication and community focused decision making. I am an active member of several local community organisations. I currently serve on the committee of Advance Morwell, where I have worked with local businesses and Latrobe City Council to help deliver the Merry Morwell Festival on the town common for the past two years, with planning underway for its third year. I also sit on the Latrobe City Council Australia Day Advisory Committee. In addition, I am President of the Yallourn North Hall and Recreation Reserve, working closely with community members, Latrobe City Council and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. I have also served as President of the Yallourn North Action Group since 2019.
