We're holding a countback for Southern Grampians Shire Council after Councillor Albert Calvano resigned on Thursday 9 April.

We'll hold a countback of votes from the October 2024 Southern Grampians Shire Council election. This countback will include all remaining eligible candidates who weren't successful at that election.

We'll stream the countback online through Microsoft Teams at 10:30 am on Monday 11 May.

    2. Click 'Continue on this browser'.
    3. Click 'Continue without audio or video' when you're asked to allow camera and microphone access.
    4. Enter your name.
    5. Click 'Join now'.

    An extraordinary vacancy has occurred within Southern Grampians Shire Council, due to the resignation of Councillor Albert Calvano on Thursday 9 April 2026.

    The vacancy will be filled through a countback of the formal ballot papers cast at the last general election in October 2024.

    Votes will be redistributed to candidates who were unsuccessful at that general election, and who remain eligible to participate in the countback, to fill the extraordinary vacancy.

    The countback will take place at 10:30 am on Monday 11 May 2026.

    The Victorian Electoral Commission will be hosting the countback online via webinar from 10 am on Monday 11 May 2026. Interested parties may observe the countback by visiting vec.vic.gov.au.

    The result will be published online at vec.vic.gov.au following the countback.
