My name is Pippa Pace, Council candidate for Heathdale Ward. I believe strong communities are built on belonging, connection, and real lived experience as a strong First Nations woman. I am passionate about ensuring the voices of families are heard and reflected in decision-making based on real lived experience just like yours. Too often, policies are made without full understanding of the realities people face. I want to change this by listening first and acting with purpose. My top five priorities are: 1. Youth – supporting young people to grow, lead, and feel included in their community. 2. Families – strengthening services, support, and connection for local families. 3. Minority communities – ensuring all communities are respected, represented, and included. 4. Safety and wellbeing – building a community where people feel safe, supported, and valued. 5. Facilities – improving and investing in accessible, welcoming local spaces that bring people together. I believe leadership should be grounded in compassion, accountability, and collaboration. Together, we can build a community where everyone feels they belong and has the opportunity to thrive. A connected community is a happy community.

Having been your councillor up until November 2024, I am ready to step back into the role. Serving as a councillor two previous times, I have the experience and understand the role. Council is in a crisis. The Mayor is not wanted and monitors have been appointed. This is a testing time for Wyndham. Trust needs to be restored and the work needs to be done to ensure we grow sensibly. More importantly, we need to ensure there is a balance between the work needed to done for newer areas whilst not forgetting the older areas. We need to protect our heritage and environmentally sensitive areas. Council needs to be smarter about its strategic plans, needs to think about what future we're building. We face many challenges but have exciting opportunities ahead. I’ve been a volunteer since a child and have continued this, working with many community groups and organisations. As a previous President of Weerama, Grange College and Truganina Community Group, along with sitting on many local committees, I’ve learnt a deeper understanding of Wyndham City’s needs. Wyndham has been my home for more than 26 years, it's where I raised my family, built my career and gave my time to the community. Much of my work has focused on community safety. I am involved with the CFA Hoppers Crossing and Court Network, and past associations including Crime Stoppers, Victoria Police partnerships and other local programs. These roles have helped me understand what Wyndham needs. They have also strengthened my commitment to honest, responsible and accountable service. I previously served for more than 11 years on Wyndham City Council. This included two terms as Mayor and two as Deputy Mayor. My background includes finance, governance, emergency management, justice and community services. I now work as a sessional trainer, training young people in community services and justice. I will bring back to Council a steady, experienced and community-first approach. I will advocate for better roads, improved public transport, better community facilities, sporting infrastructure and essential services. I will protect Wyndham’s heritage, places and local identity. I will also support local volunteers, age-friendly planning and services that are easier for residents to access. We need a council that works together and more importantly for you!
