Last chance to enrol for Murrindindi Shire Council by-election

Electoral Commissioner Sven Bluemmel is reminding voters in Murrindindi Shire Council’s Kinglake Ward to check their enrolment ahead of the upcoming by-election.

'If you live or pay rates in Kinglake Ward, make sure you’re enrolled by 4 pm on Wednesday 23 September,' Mr Bluemmel said.

'Residents and ratepayers, as well as new citizens and people who have just turned 18, can check their enrolment or complete a new enrolment form online at vec.vic.gov.au.'

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) website also allows people who have moved to update their addresses. New or updated enrolments must be received by 4 pm on Wednesday 23 September to count for the upcoming by-election.

'If you are an owner, occupier, company nominee or not an Australian citizen but pay rates for an address in Kinglake Ward you may be able to enrol in a special category by applying to Murrindindi Shire Council on 03 5772 0333,' Mr Bluemmel added.

For more information on enrolment, voters can call 131 832 or visit vec.vic.gov.au, where they can also sign up to the free VoterAlert service to receive important election reminders by SMS and email.
