Writ returned for Nepean District by-election

The writ has been returned to the Office of the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, the Hon Maree Edwards MP, marking the end of the Nepean District by-election.
The Nepean District by-election saw the highest voter turnout for a state by-election since 2018 with 42,586 voters taking part – or 83% of those enrolled. More than half of voters cast their vote during the early voting period and 17% chose to vote by post.
Electoral Commissioner Sven Bluemmel thanked those who took part.
'Every election event is an opportunity for Victorians to participate in their democracy and we were pleased to see a high turnout of Nepean voters,' Mr Bluemmel said.
'I thank the Nepean community for their engagement. It’s a strong sign of confidence in our democracy and trust in the electoral process.'
Results were officially declared at the Rosebud election office today, with Anthony Marsh announced as the successful candidate.
