Cardinia Shire Council

We have completed our review of Cardinia Shire Council's ward boundaries.

We have provided a final report to the Minister for Local Government as required by the Local Government Act 2020. Please direct any questions about the final report to Local Government Victoria at lgv@ecodev.vic.gov.au or 136 186.

What is a ward boundary review?

At the request of the Minister for Local Government, we review the internal boundaries (wards) of a council when the number of voters per councillor is forecast to be outside the legislated +/- 10% tolerance in one or more wards at the next local council election. This makes sure each voter is represented equally at the next local council election.

We have shared the options in a preliminary report and invited public submissions on these options. After considering factors including the requirements of the law, population data and public submissions, we will make a recommendation to the Minister for Local Government.
