Voting options
Voting is your right. Voting means you get to have your say about who represents you in the Victorian Parliament. That’s what our democracy is all about.
Voting is also a responsibility. If you don’t vote, we may send you a fine.
There are several different ways you can vote in the Nepean District by-election.
Vote early
Early voting is open until Friday 1 May. Anyone can vote early – you don't need a special reason.
Opening hours:
- 9 am to 8 pm weekdays
- 1 pm to 8 pm Anzac Day, Saturday 25 April
- 9 am to 6 pm Friday 1 May.
Vote by post
Anyone can apply to vote by post in this by-election.
Postal vote applications close at 6 pm on Wednesday 29 April.
If you're already enrolled as a general postal voter, your ballot pack will be automatically posted to you - you don't need to re-apply.
We'll start posting ballot packs after nominations have closed and we've confirmed all the candidates.
Vote by phone
You can register to vote by phone if you:
- are blind
- have low vision
- have a motor impairment and need help to cast your vote.
Registration and voting open on Wednesday 22 April.
Vote on election day
You can vote at any voting centre in Nepean District on Saturday 2 May.
Election day voting centres are open from 8 am to 6 pm.
Braille and large print ballot papers
We can post you a braille or large print ballot paper if you're blind or vision impaired.
Registrations for this by-election are now closed.
You can register any time for future elections. Contact us on:
