Location:Gippsland East District is a large, thinly populated rural electorate in eastern Victoria.
Area:27,531 square kilometres.
Towns:Bairnsdale, Bruthen, Buchan, Cann River, Dargo, Ensay, Heyfield, Lakes Entrance, Lindenow, Maffra, Mallacoota, Metung, Omeo, Orbost, Paynesville, Raymond Island, Stratford, Swan Reach, Swifts Creek and Wy Yung.
Features:Industries in Gippsland East District include agriculture, timber production, fishing and tourism. The town of Bairnsdale is a centre for commerce and retail trade. Natural features include the Alpine, Snowy River and Croajingolong National Parks.
