Chris Jones is the new representative on Maroondah City Council, Barngeong Ward after a by-election was held to fill an extraordinary vacancy.

Chris Jones was among 4 candidates standing for the by-election and will represent Barngeong Ward on Maroondah City Council until the next council general election in October 2024.

Election Manager Sandi Miller declared the result at 10 am today at Council Offices, Council Chamber, 179 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood.

The extraordinary vacancy happened due to the resignation of Marijke Graham.
