In July 2018 the VEC launched Strategy 2023, developed through extensive consultation with staff and consideration of the VEC’s operating environment. The VEC’s five-year goal is to be ‘change ready, with the people, systems and relationships to make the most of opportunities’.
A total of 33 key projects and initiatives were identified in the first phase of Strategy 2023. Some 28 were initiated in 2018 19, with a further five to be initiated in 2019 20. This was an ambitious workplan while also focusing on the delivery of the 2018 State election.
Goals against the four key pillars of Strategy 2023 – People, Decision-making, Technology, Relationships – are all tracking ‘in progress’. A comprehensive monitoring and evaluation framework has been developed to ensure ongoing accountability and improvement against the strategy.
