Call for candidates for Wodonga by-election

Candidate nominations for the Wodonga City Council, Lake Hume Ward by-election are now open.

'If you want to represent your local community, I encourage you to nominate,' Election Manager Derek Duncan said. 'You'll need to lodge your nomination in person during the nomination period.'

Prospective candidates must make an appointment to submit their nomination form and pay the $250 fee in person during business hours.

'You can call 131 832 to make a nomination appointment,' Mr Duncan added. 'You can also start your nomination online using the Candidate Helper tool at candidatehelper.vec.vic.gov.au to save time.'

The election office will be open on weekdays from Monday 18 August to Friday 3 October at:

• Unit 1/1 Biralee Place, West Wodonga.

Nominations close at 12 noon on Tuesday 26 August. Late nominations will not be accepted.

Candidate kits containing information on nominating are available by calling the election manager on 131 832.
