Last chance to enrol for Lake Hume Ward, Wodonga City Council by-election

Electoral Commissioner Sven Bluemmel is reminding voters in Lake Hume Ward, Wodonga City Council to check their enrolment ahead of the upcoming by-election.

'If you live or pay rates in Lake Hume Ward, make sure you’re enrolled by 4 pm on Wednesday 23 July,' Mr Bluemmel said.

'State-enrolled voters, as well as new citizens and people who have just turned 18, can check their enrolment or complete a new enrolment form online at vec.vic.gov.au'   

The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) website also allows people who have moved to update their addresses. New or updated enrolments must be received by 4 pm on 23 July to count for the upcoming by-election.

'If you are an owner, occupier, company nominee or not an Australian citizen but pay rates for an address in Lake Hume Ward, you may be able to enrol in a special category by applying to Wodonga City Council on (02) 6022 9269,' Mr Bluemmel added.

For more information on enrolment, voters can call 131 832 or visit vec.vic.gov.au, where they can also sign up to the free VoterAlert service to receive important election reminders by SMS and email.
