Registration of the Libertarian Party’s logo

The logo of the Libertarian Party was officially registered today.

The party submitted an application to register the following logo on Tuesday 21 January: 

As required by section 49 of the Electoral Act 2002 (the Act), the Victorian Electoral Commission advertised the application and invited objections. No objections were received.

Certain logos are not acceptable under the Act, including logos that are confusingly similar to the logo of another registered political party. 

The logo of the Libertarian Party is acceptable under the Act and will be printed next to the party’s endorsed candidates’ names on ballot papers at any election contested by the party under the Act.
