Wellington Shire Council

We have completed our review of Wellington Shire Council's ward boundaries.

We have provided a final report to the Minister for Local Government as required by the Local Government Act 2020. Please direct any enquiries about the final report to Local Government Victoria at lgv@ecodev.vic.gov.au or 136 186.

What is a ward boundary review?

At the request of the Minister for Local Government, we review the internal boundaries (wards) of a council when the number of voters per councillor is forecast to be outside the legislated +/- 10% tolerance in one or more wards at the next local council election. This makes sure each voter is represented equally at the next local council election.

We shared options in a preliminary report and invited the public to have a say on these options. After considering factors, including the requirements of the law, population data and your views, we have made a recommendation to the Minister for Local Government.
